one more beach trip by megan

Hey y’all! I can’t believe it is Wednesday evening already…this week is flying. I find it so funny that I am only taking 7 hours this semester and that I feel busier than ever!!

Last night was Alpha and it was such a crazy night at church with the kids…I will just say that God is showing me a lot about myself as a teacher. I am learning that I do not want to teach 7 or 8 year olds. I much prefer the little ones, aged 3-5. I love when God shows me stuff like this! He is so helpful πŸ™‚

Today has been super busy as well…early morning spent at Bear.. Y Cherry Tree Childrens Daycare working/playing with 3 year olds (love those little ones!) and then Biology lab at school. I still have so much more to do. I even skipped my 5:00pm class tonight because I have so much I need to get done pertaining to school work and packing. Yes, packing. I am going on yet again another beach trip! This time I am heading to Florida…and I am so excited!

My family (dad, uncles, cousins) owns some restaurants/bars down here and the general manager is getting married on the beach, so naturally my parents are going to the wedding, along with my older cousins and their little girl. I am going as a babysitter. I will only be babysitting the evening/night of the wedding though. Don’t worry, my mama and I have a trip to the Silver Sands Outlet planned πŸ™‚ I just want to hit up J.Crew and Off 5th.

Off 5th is the Saks Fifth Avenue outlet. I love, love, love it! But, you do need to search for deals and treasures. Last year I scored a gorgeous Moschino dress for under 200 dollars. I basically died. So, yes I am pretty excited about this little vacation. We leave tomorrow after lunch around 1:00 and come home Sunday! Not to mention the condo we are staying at is beautiful…oh I love the beach!

Okay, it is most definitely time for me to get started on packing and some HRT studying. So, I wish y’all a wonderful rest of the week…I will be back Monday!

food love by megan

Hey y’all! How’s Tuesday going so far? Mine’s going well…nothing too exciting! I went to the doctor and stopped in Whole Foods for just fruit…and left with so much more, haha. Oh well. Who can pass up new flavor Larabars (Peanut Butter & Jelly, German Chocolate Cake, Tropical Fruit Tart) and oatmeal cookies and fresh vegetable kabobs and white chocolate raspberry gelato and italian vegetable quiche and Glenny’s brownies (that the Whole Foods down here JUST got in stock!)?? Well I certainly couldn’t pass any of those goodies up, that’s for sure. There may or may not have been other items that snuck into my cart, too πŸ˜‰ Sometimes I enjoy shopping at Whole Foods more than I enjoy shopping at J.Crew. Oh, and I already tried the PB & J Larabar…in love.

I’m still reading the book of Daniel and still loving it. I love starting my day off with God’s word. I like filling my cup up with scripture early in the morning. That way it’s with me all day and my worries aren’t as important anymore.

I had also gone to Whole Foods for some special ingredients for Sunday dinner. I was going to cook Salmon & Eggplant Curry from the newest issue of Eating Well. But, being me, I forgot to look for the fish sauce. I could go back to Whole Foods later this week and pick it up, but I am deciding to stay out of there for a few weeks based on what I spent today, oops! I know salmon is definitely on the menu for Sunday no matter what so I found 2 different replacement recipes. One is Salmon & Escarole with Lemon-Tarragon Butter from Eating Well and the second is Salmon with Puff Pastry and Pesto courtesy of Giada De Laurentiis. I adore Giada to peices, by the way.Β  I am leaning toward the Salmon & Escarole dish because it seems interesting to bake salmon in foil packets (atleast it’s seems interesting to moi), but I have to take a vote with the family tonight.

It’s so hot today. Even inside. I have been drinking water like it’s nobody’s business. I would really love a tall glass of sweet tea though.

My friend’s mama makes the best sweet tea. It’s the only sweet tea I drink, and it would be so delicious right now.

On the shopping front:

LuvCharlie is offering 25% off your entire purchase with the coupon code: summersteal. The offer expires August 31.

LuvCharlie is such a fun online boutique! So, enjoy shopping πŸ™‚ In fact my eye is on this denim skirt. It looks very similar to a denim ruffle skirt I wore when I was a little girl in the 80’s. I wouldn’t take it off. And when I did take it off it was just so it could be washed and put right back on. The only difference is that my skirt had a hot pink elastic waistband. It was pretty sassy, if I do say so myself.

I hope y’all enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! It’s 3:30…which means I have a date with Giada on the Food Network!
