tomorrow, tomorrow by megan

tomorrow is the women’s conference at my church and i am so looking forward to it. elyse fitzpatrick is guest speaking…author of such books like:

because he loves me

love to eat, hate to eat

idols of the heart

…and many more. i read love to eat, hate to eat and it changed my life regarding my eating disorder and just eating in general (oh! and my 1 year anniversary was nov. 1…that was the day God changed my life, and i haven’t looked back).

i can’t wait to spend time with the fabulous women of my church this weekend! growing in our relationships with each other and with Jesus!

before the conference my best friend and i are going to an early dinner. we have so much to talk about….we’re both literally bursting with things to share! love when that happens!

tomorrow is friday! do y’all have any fun plans for the weekend?

excuse me, but i must retreat to my bed…grey’s anatomy is on!

fall by megan

Happy September 1st!!!!

I am so, so excited for September, which is odd because I am the  girl who never wants summer to end. I usually get upset when August issues of magazines arrive because they are loaded with fall clothes and fall recipes. Weird, right?  I just adore sundresses and sandals and watermelon. But, surprisingly I am very ready for fall this year. Pumpkins, sweaters, tights, cooler air...the Lord just blesses us with so much during Fall, and I am beginning to appreciate the beauty of it all! Now, when fall decides to arrive in my city is another story. But there was a slight breeze outside this morning and that’s better than nothing, I suppose.

Has anyone gotten a Pumpkin Spice Latte yet?

I have not, but my mama made the trip this morning. She said it was delicious, of course!

So, I have been cracking down on school work since yesterday and I have gotten a lot accomplished! That was my plan because the rest of this week is going to be very busy

  • Tonight is Alpha at church and I will be working with Alpha Kids. I will be serving in crafts!

{Alpha is a 10 week course to explore the Christian faith. While all of the parents are learning I will be working with their kids! I am very excited!}

  • Tomorrow I have school ALL day…Bio lab starts tomorrow. I am pretty nervous about this, not gonna lie.
  • Thursday I am going shopping with my mama. She wants to take me to the Gap 🙂 Love my mama!
  • And then, Thursday night I am going grocery shopping with my friend because…
  • Friday a group of my friends and I are going to the BEACH! We are going to my parents condo for Labor Day weekend and I am so excited!!!  We are heading to the beach Friday evening and coming back home Monday. This mini vacation is most needed.

  • Also, on Friday I am getting my hair done. I am going back to my roots…back to my natural brunette ways. I am a reddish/blonde right now and I have decided to go back to my natural color. I am really excited! The change was nice for several months, but I am ready to get back to my dark hair. I just feel more ME with dark hair.

So that’s my week in a nutshell! I have a lot to look forward to 🙂 Except for that dreadful Bio lab…although microscopes are pretty fun. Especially this Hello Kitty one I found!

Hello Kitty

Can you even imagine if these were in the lab? Haha! Oh that would just make my day!!

Happy Tuesday!!!

sunday love by megan

Happy Sunday!

How are y’all? Today has been really great! I love my Sundays so much! I went to church and then to Wal-Mart with my mom and my sister and found these…

I love markers, crayons, glitter, coloring books…everything to that nature. I am going to teach pre-k, afterall! Well, that’s the plan, anyway. I am a Crayola girl, but these RoseArt glitter markers were just too tempting. I tried them…I approve!

Last night sushi was really fun and really delicious and I practically had to be rolled out of Sake. I like to eat sushi, what can I say? There were 4 of us at dinner and we ordered lots of rolls like Spider Web (my favorite), Rock n Roll, Crawfish Roll, Portobello Tempura Roll (my first time trying…so good!), Tuna roll, Rainbow roll…and some more. They were all very yummy…Sake never disappoints. The only picture I managed to take was this one…on our walk down Magazine Street to our car.

I am very excited for dinner tonight…we are doing a Giada recipe. This one to be exact. We are serving it with polenta and a mixed greens salad loaded with tomatoes, almonds, and raisins. Oh, and sangria with apples and oranges, of course 🙂 But, I must say that I am most excited about cupcakes for dessert from The Kupcake Factory.

We ordered 1/2 a dozen cupcakes. A mix of wedding cake, birthday cake, and red velvet I believe. I am so excited! Pictures tomorrow, for sure.

Sundays have always been a family day for us…and I wouldn’t choose to have it any other way. Sundays are such a blessing. Do y’all have any Sunday traditions?

Okay, I am off to help cut the fruit for the Sangria. Enjoy the evening!
