very forgetful by megan

Hi y’all! Happy Saturday! So far my Saturday has consisted of this

and this

IMG_7836This would be the Pumpkin Spice Latte I had after the mentally draining/horrifying PRAXIS…more on that in a minute. But, Starbucks made my day brighter ๐Ÿ™‚

Today has been SUCH a day. It was PRAXIS day. Meaning I have been up since 5:15. I was on my schools campus by 6:51…super early for the 7:30 entry time for the test. I thought I was all set…I had my sharpened number 2 pencils (Ticonderoga, the best!), my non-graphing calculator, and my admission ticket. Sounds like I had it all, right? Wrong! I did not have ANY picture ID on me. No student ID, no license, not even a credit card with my name on it. Nothing. A picture ID is required to enter the testing room and to take the test. I did not realize this until my friends and I lined up to enter the auditorium. Y’all I was totally freaking out! I drove to school (a good 40 minutes) without a license!! God was definitely on my side though because my Daddy jumped out of bed when I called him (at 7:20 am on a Saturday) in a panic and delivered it to me in the nick of time (in stormy weather conditions). Seriously. My Dad is such a blessing ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sure y’all must be wondering where my ID’s were, right? They were in my gym bag. I keep my ID’s and such in a cute little Vera Bradley ID pouch and always just throw that pouch in my gym bag instead of bringing my entire purse with me plus my gym bag to the gym. I am usually so good about taking the pouch out of the gym bag and placing it back into my wallet in my purse. God totally taught me a lesson today! I always thought I would never be “the girl who would be so absentminded to forget her picture ID on the day of the PRAXIS”. I mean who could possibly do that? Haha, oh it can happen! Phew…it was close though and definitely had me nervous for a minute!

Anyway, the test was difficult as I expected. But, I’m not going to stress about it. It does not do any good to stress or worry over it. I prepared as best as I could and I took it. It is in God’s control now. I feel so much better knowing that God has it under control for me, too. He always does what is best!

This has been such a rainy and gloomy day. It’s a perfect day for staying in and reading. I even tried to get started on some major school work, but my brain is seriously not capable of thinking. The PRAXIS took a lot of brain power. Oh, it was so rough! Tonight I am heading to a friends house…a very relaxing evening!

Enjoy your night!

fall by megan

Happy September 1st!!!!

I am so, so excited for September, which is odd because I am theย  girl who never wants summer to end. I usually get upset when August issues of magazines arrive because they are loaded with fall clothes and fall recipes. Weird, right?ย  I just adore sundresses and sandals and watermelon. But, surprisingly I am very ready for fall this year. Pumpkins, sweaters, tights, cooler air...the Lord just blesses us with so much during Fall, and I am beginning to appreciate the beauty of it all! Now, when fall decides to arrive in my city is another story. But there was a slight breeze outside this morning and that’s better than nothing, I suppose.

Has anyone gotten a Pumpkin Spice Latte yet?

I have not, but my mama made the trip this morning. She said it was delicious, of course!

So, I have been cracking down on school work since yesterday and I have gotten a lot accomplished! That was my plan because the rest of this week is going to be very busy

  • Tonight is Alpha at church and I will be working with Alpha Kids. I will be serving in crafts!

{Alpha is a 10 week course to explore the Christian faith. While all of the parents are learning I will be working with their kids! I am very excited!}

  • Tomorrow I have school ALL day…Bio lab starts tomorrow. I am pretty nervous about this, not gonna lie.
  • Thursday I am going shopping with my mama. She wants to take me to the Gap ๐Ÿ™‚ Love my mama!
  • And then, Thursday night I am going grocery shopping with my friend because…
  • Friday a group of my friends and I are going to the BEACH! We are going to my parents condo for Labor Day weekend and I am so excited!!!ย  We are heading to the beach Friday evening and coming back home Monday. This mini vacation is most needed.

  • Also, on Friday I am getting my hair done. I am going back to my roots…back to my natural brunette ways. I am a reddish/blonde right now and I have decided to go back to my natural color. I am really excited! The change was nice for several months, but I am ready to get back to my dark hair. I just feel more ME with dark hair.

So that’s my week in a nutshell! I have a lot to look forward to ๐Ÿ™‚ Except for that dreadful Bio lab…although microscopes are pretty fun. Especially this Hello Kitty one I found!

Hello Kitty

Can you even imagine if these were in the lab? Haha! Oh that would just make my day!!

Happy Tuesday!!!

monday musings by megan

Happy Monday, pies! I just love Monday’s. It’s the beginning of a new week. A fresh start. I love embracing that thought.

I had the strangest thing happen to me this morning. Okay, so yesterday my lovely friend called and invited me over to her house to play cards tonight, or so I thought it was tonight. On the way home from the gym this morning I had a strange feeling that I misunderstood the invite…and called my friend up. Turns out the invite was for last night as in Sunday night, not Monday night like I thought! We had a good laugh about the mix-up!ย  Has this ever happened to y’all?

I have been on the lookout for a new coffe travel mug and yesterday at Starbucks I stumbled upon their new African inspired line. And, I bought this little gem

IMG_7643I love the colors and the fact that it is a real piece of hand crafted African fabric under the plastic covering. It’s just beautiful to me. I can’t wait to use it!

I browsed through half of the September Lucky this morning. I adore the thickness of the September issues. It makes me very happy.

IMG_7644I like to take my time reading Lucky. I usually browse it at the gym and then when I am comfortable at home I study it and then litter it with my “Yes!” and “Maybe” tabs. So far my favorite page in this issue is this:

IMG_7646I love the look of mixing floral prints. I will be brave this fall and venture into the world of mixed prints.

I’m reading the book of Daniel this week. If anyone wants to join me.

It is very hot, humid, and sunny down here today…with rain to come. I hope y’all are staying cool and dry where ever you may be.

I hope y’all enjoy your day to the fullest!
