summer’s over by megan

Happy Monday! Well, summer’s over…for the South anyway. I am pretty sure all elementary schools, high schools, and universities are offically back in session after today. As for me, I do not start class until Wednesday! This is my last semester before student teaching in the spring and I am very anxious to see what God has in store! I love the beginning of each new school year…a fresh start! So, yes Wednesday is my first day back and I have yet to get my school supplies together. I have purchased them…I just need to transfer them from the Office Depot bag into a tote and fill the binders with paper. Oh, how I love school supplies! Since I only have 1 class and 1 lab this semester I did not need too many supplies…but I am happy with what I found, so I thought I would share them with you…

IMG_7772Yay! I am most excited about my Wilson Jones accordion folder and my multi-colored R.S.V.P. pens 🙂 Oh, and I totally scored that Vera Bradley binder at TJ Maxx for 3 bucks. The same day I found my linea pelle bag…oh, it was a good shopping day! Indeed it was.

So far today I enjoyed spending some time with God this morning in Romans, ate some cereal and blueberries, went to the gym, went to the bank, went to get gas, and ate lunch. It has been a wonderful day so far. Not to mention it is absolutely gorgeous outside! I have been driving around with the windows doing that, I definitely don’t do it enough. I should be spending more time outside today enjoying this weather…I am thinking some reading is in line for this afternoon 🙂 I started reading Julie & Julia last night and I can’t wait dive back into it!

Have a great day, y’all!

banana pancakes by megan

hello…it’s Saturday!

First, let me say that Julie & Julia was wonderful! I really, really enjoyed it. Meryl Streep was fabulous as Julia Child and she was so much fun to watch! The movie definitely made me want to cook something and then eat it. It’s such a cool idea to cook your way through a cook book, no? How fun!

This morning I slept in and went downstairs for breakfast with my sister…banana pancakes! They were good 🙂 And they made me smile. There’s something about pancakes on the weekend…sleeping in and then talking with your family while eating pancakes.

{these are not my banana pancakes, but they look equally as delicious i think}

Last night I was worried about a lot of stuff. I found myself worrying about things I should not have been worrying about. Or apologizing for things I should not be apologizing for. I was even beginning to think I should change for someone…to try to please a friend.  I read this verse this morning and it is just so perfect…

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries and prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

Isn’t that beautiful?

I don’t know if y’all like soft t-shirts, but I do and C&C has some some new fall arrivals and they are offering FREE shipping with any new arrivals purchase. I love free shipping!

It is a rainy down down here today. I hope it is sunny where you are, though. But if it is not…enjoy your Saturday anyway!

good morning, lovelies! Happy Friday!!!

My oatmeal has been consumed and my coffee has been drunk (drank?). I am ready for the day!

So, Harry Potter  was so good last night…I love him. Today I am going to see yet another movie…

I am so excited to see this one! I have the book but haven’t opened it yet.

I wish you all a bright and beautiful Friday morning!
